Shopping for Party Dresses Online? Say Yes to a Dress in One of These 3 Styles

According to current research on eCommerce, 54% of consumers now prefer to buy clothing through online clothes stores. Women, especially, are more prone to shop online for clothing, as the average woman in the U.S. buys 64 pieces of new clothing per year. One of the most popular types of garment for many women, though, is the dress, and perhaps no other event requires a new outfit than a party or formal affair.

Which style party dress is right for you? Here are just a sampling of what to choose from the many party dresses online:

  • Flirty: For events that are more fun than formal, especially for the warm weather in summer, you’ll likely need a party dress with some flair to it. Many party dresses online feature A-line skirts, as seen in skater dresses, or empire waists, as seen on strapless mini dresses. This is a trendy way to look your best at a party, and it’s a look that’s perfect for teens, twenty-somethings, and beyond. Choose bright colors and bold patterns if you really want to make a statement.
  • Sophisticated: Do you have a particular event to go to, like a wedding or a corporate celebration? If so, then you may need to find more sophisticated party dresses online. Look for garments that are tailored well and have sleek lines. Some styles that might work for an event in warmer weather are strapless, spaghetti strap, or a single strap over one shoulder. Because autumn is coming up, you may want to choose a dress with sleeves or one that can easily be paired with a sweater.
  • Boho: The Boho style may have become popular in the late 1960s when hippie clothes were in fashion, but some of its influence actually dates back much further the pre-Raphaelite women in the mid-to-late 19th century. If you’re a fan of the loose-fitting, flowy, and flowery Bohemian style, then you may prefer something loose and casual for when you go out. Long dresses with flowing skirts are ideal for summertime and can transition to fall weather with a jacket or cardigan over them. Shorter dresses can be made warmer with stockings or a pair of leggings.
