Most Requested Items From Military Charities

Clothing donations pick up

Members of the military are working around the clock, 365 days of the year to provide freedom and safety to our country. It doesn’t have to be the holiday season to give back to these selfless people, as there are many organizations nation wide that accept charity donations for military personnel and their families. Looking to donate to military charities? Here are some items they desperately need.

Clothing

Clothing donations are always needed for military families. Typically military families have limited income and small children, so any gently used clothing will be warmly received. There is so much clothing that goes to waste here in the United States, so every season purge your closets to give back to those who need it the most.

Technology gadgets

Just because you or your child has outgrown a movie, a game, or a piece of technology doesn’t automatically mean that it doesn’t have a use anymore. Old, gently used DVDs, board games, mobile devices, game consoles, and other gadgets are preferred by many veterans charities.

Books

Bored with a book? Let someone else enjoy it! These books are especially helpful to growing children in military families, and spouses who would like to be distracted while their significant other is overseas.

Household items

Military families move quite often, and as a result they may loose or misplace many everyday household items. If you have some pots and pans, extra tables, stemware, or baking supplies, de-clutter your kitchen and make these items into useful charity donations!

Bedding

Same goes with bedding. It is easy to grow tired of an old bed spread and curtains, so if they are in good condition donate them to someone looking to furnish a new house! Even if they can’t be used properly, a military dog may enjoy them to snuggle up with!

Personal items

Living a life in the military is hard and expensive. Not only are personal items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products expensive, military families may have to cut them out if they can’t afford them in their tight budget. If you have any extra laying around your house, pop them in a basket and make a beautiful care package out of it.
